Giant demagnetization effects induced by superconducting films

نویسندگان

چکیده

We show that a ferromagnetic (F) slab with the in-plane magnetization sandwiched between two superconducting (S) films experiences strong demagnetization effect due to Meissner screening of stray magnetic field by superconductors. In extreme case transition S from normal state can switch factor 0 1 which is in sharp contrast S/F bilayers where such affects inside F film only slightly. The giant shown be qualitatively robust against decreasing thickness and may provide hint towards explanation anomalously large resonance frequency shift recently observed for S/F/S structures [I. A. Relaxation effects in HTc-Superconducting Thin Films

Mechanical relaxation experiments have been widely applied to bulk high temperature (HT,) superconducting materials. In contrast to that only few results obtained on HT, superconducting thin films were reported. None dealt with stress driven phenomena due to the high background damping from the substrate materials used. In applied magnetic fields, however, a host reed technique can be used and ...

Spin fluctuation induced linear magnetoresistance in ultrathin superconducting FeSe films

The discovery of high-temperature superconductivity in FeSe/STO has trigged great research interest to reveal a range of exotic physical phenomena in this novel material. Here we present a temperature dependent magnetotransport measurement for ultrathin FeSe/STO films with different thickness and protection layers. Remarkably, a surprising linear magnetoresistance (LMR) is observed around the s...

0 Fluctuation Effects in High Sheet Resistance Superconducting Films ∗

As the normal state sheet resistance, Rn, of a thin film superconductor increases, its superconducting properties degrade. For Rn ≃ h/4e superconductivity disappears and a transition to a nonsuperconducting state occurs. We present electron tunneling and transport measurements on ultrathin, homogeneously disordered superconducting films in the vicinity of this transition. The data provide stron...

Influence of demagnetization in remanence curves of magnetic thin films

Remanent magnetization curves of perpendicular magnetic thin films are simulated and measured. The simulations are used to investigate the theoretical influence of the strong demagnetizing field present in these films. Conclusions are drawn from this on how remanence curves should be measured and how they should be c0rrecte.d for the demagnetizing influence. The experimental part consists of me...

Pinning size effects in critical currents of superconducting films

The thickness dependence of the critical current density Jc(d) in films due to the two-dimensional–three-dimensional (2D–3D) pinning crossover at low magnetic fields is addressed, taking into account the spatial correlation of pinning centres, the combined effect of bulk and surface pinning, and the effect of thermal fluctuations. The whole Jc(d) curve for both the 3D and 2D pinning regimes, an...
